WHO
WE ARE, WHAT WE DO
Through
all of our 29 years, we have spoken much of our vision and mission, who we
are, what we are called to do. We know that we are an evangelistic and
missionary community. This has been true from the very beginning and has
never changed. We do our work within the context of family renewal. That
is one distinct factor that distinguishes us from other renewal movements.

PORTA
FIDEI
OF
THE SUPREME PONTIFF
BENEDICT XVI
FOR
THE INDICTION OF THE YEAR OF FAITH
1.
The “door of faith” (Acts 14:27) is always open for us,
ushering us into the life of communion with God and offering
entry into his Church. It is possible to cross that threshold
when the word of God is proclaimed and the heart allows itself
to be shaped by transforming grace. To enter through that door
is to set out on a journey that lasts a lifetime. It begins
with baptism (cf. Rom 6:4), through which we can address God
as Father, and it ends with the passage through death to
eternal life, fruit of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus,
whose will it was, by the gift of the Holy Spirit, to draw
those who believe in him into his own glory (cf. Jn 17:22). To
profess faith in the Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
– is to believe in one God who is Love (cf. 1 Jn 4:8): the
Father, who in the fullness of time sent his Son for our
salvation; Jesus Christ, who in the mystery of his death and
resurrection redeemed the world; the Holy Spirit, who leads
the Church across the centuries as we await the Lord’s
glorious return.

Health Ministry

CFC-FFL Work With the Poor &
Health Ministries, together with Intellicare (an HMO company), conducted
an initial Annual Physical Examination (APE) at CFC Brampton Restoration
Village on Sunday, Apr.22, 2012, at the RV site at Grezar, Brgy. Bagbag,
Novaliches. Doctors from the CFC-FFL Health Ministry were on hand to do
the physical assessment while Intellicare bought along their mobile clinic
& staff to do the CBC, Fecalysis, Urinalysis, and X-Ray. A total of
170 beneficiaries (adults & children) availed of the services. The
activity is part of a comprehensive health program for the RV site with
Intellicare as partner. They will be conducting a yearly APE to monitor
the health conditions of the beneficiaries. Intellicare has sponsored the
on-going construction of a permanent clinic at the 3rd floor of the RV
community center .

BABY DIAPERS & WIPES
As
seen in this picture are the donations
collected during the 2012 Advent Appeal for Diapers and Wipes received
by St. Mary Doolittle of the Sisters of Life. Compare to last year's appeal,
our collections increased more than threefold this year and Sisters of Life
was so much grateful for the timely delivery of diapers, wipes and petroleum
jellies which they said had provided relief to them due to the increasing
number of mothers who gave birth to babies saved from abortion. Families
they now serve include those refugees and migrant workers whom they
discovered to be very vulnerable to sending their children to abortion
mills. Collections came from almost all chapters in the GTA District but
this time we noted the active participation of the Handmaids and YFL. If
you wish to donate to the Baby Diapers & Wipes deposit your donations

OUR
THEME FOR 2013
BE.LI.EV.E
Next
year, our Catholic Church has proclaimed the Year of Faith (from
October 11, 2012 to November 24, 2013). On October 7 to 28 this
year, Pope Benedict XVI is convening the Synod of Bishops to
discuss “The New Evangelization for the Transmission of the
Christian Faith.” Faith and the New Evangelization go together.
The New Evangelization is all about propagating the Christian
faith, both in renewing the Church and also in accomplishing her missio
ad gentes. Faith in Jesus is at the core of the New
Evangelization and it is our faith that pushes us to proclaim the
good news of salvation in Jesus to the whole world.
For 2013, our theme is on faith.
Our
2013 theme
FAITH WORKS WONDERS!
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever believes in me will do the works that I do,
and will do greater ones than these,
because I am going to the Father.”
(John 14:12)

Pope
Francis I is the 266th pope, successorof St. Peter. He was born
on 17 December 1936 Jorge Mario Bergoglio in
Flores, Buenos Aires City, one of the five children of Mario José
Bergoglio, an Italian immigrant, and his wife Regina María Sívori, a
housewife born in Buenos Aires to a family of northern Italian origin.
Jorge
Bergoglio has been a supporter of the San Lorenzo de Almagro football
club since his childhood. Jorge Bergoglio is also a fan of the
films of Tita Merello and of neorealism and of tango dancing, with an
"intense fondness" for the traditional music of Argentina
and Uruguay known as the milonga.
He
graduated from the technical secondary school Escuela Nacional de
Educación with a chemical technician's diploma; during that period he
had a job as a bouncer in a Buenos Aires bar to earn money and fund
his studies. He worked for a few years in that capacity in the
foods section at Hickethier-Bachmann Laboratory. The only known
health crisis of his youth is that at the age of 21 he suffered from
life-threatening pneumonia and cysts and had part of a lung removed
shortly afterwards.
Jorge
Bergoglio is conversant in Spanish, Latin, Italian, German, French,
Ukrainian, and English.
He
was ordained as a priest in 1969. He served as head of the
Society of Jesus in Argentina from 1973 to 1979. In 1998 he
became the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, and in 2001 a cardinal.
He chose the papal name Francis in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi.
Besides being the first pope to choose the name Francis, he is also
the first pope to be a Jesuit; the first pope to come from the
Americas and from the Southern Hemisphere.

THE
NEW EVANGELIZATION (Part 33) - HARDSHIPS IN THE WORK
April
28, 2013
The
call to the New Evangelization can be euphoric. God’s
people can become all excited (I hope so) and be gung-ho
about moving ahead. After all, we fight for a victorious
God. But we really need to be aware that as we plunge into
spiritual warfare, we will be bloodied. The enemy opposes
those who assault his dominion in the world, and
especially when our intent is to help bring people into
the kingdom of God.

OUR
THEME FOR 2013 (Part 44) - GREATER WORKS
April
27, 2013
The
Lord today reiterates our theme verse. “Amen, amen, I say
to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do,
and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to
the Father.” (Jn 14:12). The call to the New
Evangelization is about faith, faith that works, faith that
works wonders. It is about meeting and knowing Christ,
living Christ, and sharing Christ.

THE
WAY FORWARD IN CHRIST (Part 55) - SOLIDARITY
April
9, 2013
One
key word for us in the Church and in community is
solidarity. Solidarity essentially means unity and
stewardship. This was the situation of the first Christian
community established after Pentecost. “The community of
believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that
any of his possessions was his own, but they had everything
in common.” (Acts 4:32).

EVANGELIZATION AND MISSION (Part 41) - GO AND EVANGELIZE
April 6, 2013
Jesus
said to the Eleven, and by extension tells all of us who are
his disciples: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the
gospel to every creature.” (Mk 16:15). This is the call to
do rapid, massive and worldwide evangelization.

LOVING
ONE ANOTHER (Part 13) - FAITH IS VICTORY OVER THE WORLD
January
10, 2013
We are called to love one another. This is because of who
our God is, and what He commands us to do. God loves us with
an eternal love, creating us in His image and likeness. God
manifested that love by sending His own Son into the world
to suffer and die for us. “We love because he first loved
us.” (1 Jn 4:19).

LOOKING TO PERFECT LOVE
January
9, 2013
Jesus restored us to our relationship with the Father. At
the core of our Christian faith is this relationship. It is
a relationship of love--God’s love for us and our love for
God, with God acting first and unilaterally. “We have come
to know and to believe in the love God has for us.” (1 Jn
4:16a). How can we be assured that this mutual love is in
place? Well, God’s love is already proven, and so it is up
to us to respond in love. How can we be assured that we are
with God and He is with us?

FINANCIAL
STEWARDSHIP (Part 16) - WHAT TWO WIDOWS CAN TEACH US
November
11, 2012
God
loves the poor. Jesus’ mission is to the poor (Lk 4:18).
In the mission of Christians they are to be mindful of the
poor (Gal 2:10). We today speak of a preferential option for
the poor. In CFC-FFL this is one of our Core Values.

CFC-FFL
COMMUNITY PRAYER 2013
Almighty
Father in heaven, awesome and glorious are you in your majesty. From
all eternity you have had the greatest plan for us all, for a future
filled with hope. May your name be always exalted through all the
earth.
Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, you have loved us with an
everlasting love, and have established your friendship with us. We
desire to live as you live, following you as your disciple along the
path of holiness. Help us to share the good news of your love and your
salvation to many others. Increase our faith, so that we might do even
greater works.
Holy Spirit, touch the hearts of the faithful, so that they may meet
Christ, live Christ and share Christ. Help us to mainstream Catholic
lay evangelization in this Year of Faith, in response to the call to
the New Evangelization. Open our eyes and hearts to experience the
faith that truly works wonders.
Triune God, continue to work in our lives so that we remain faithful
and steadfast in faith, as we proclaim that faith throughout the
world. Then may all peoples and nations bow down before you in
worship.
Mama Mary, you are our model of faith. Please always guide us and keep
us covered in your mantle of grace and blessing.
May the faith of all God’s people move mountains.
Amen.
