The
highest courage is to dare to be yourself in the face of adversity,
choosing right over wrong, ethics over convenience, and truth over
popularity.

WHO
WE ARE, WHAT WE DO
Through
all of our 29 years, we have spoken much of our vision and mission, who we
are, what we are called to do. We know that we are an evangelistic and
missionary community. This has been true from the very beginning and has
never changed. We do our work within the context of family renewal. That
is one distinct factor that distinguishes us from other renewal movements.

An
Urgent Appeal:
Restore
Typhoon Sendong Flood Victims
CFC-FFL Work With the Poor (WWP) has a
fundraising effort to help CFC-FFL brethren and the people of Cagayan de
Oro (CDO) who were affected by Typhoon Sendong (international name: Washi).
At present, we were able to send monetary assistance to purchase food and
water (since CDO is far and sending goods at this time is expensive), but
still a lot more is needed.
Please deposit your monetary donation to The Work With the Poor bank
account:
Bank: TD Canada Trust

OVERTURNING
LIVES
God
is a God who overturns and radically changes lives. In doing so,
He is able to do the impossible. God enabled the barren Hanna to
conceive and bear a son. God enabled Virgin Mary to conceive and
bear a son.
As
we face the challenges and trials of life, we look to such a
God. When we are down, we know He can raise us up. When we
are up, we are mindful that He can bring us down. He is an all
knowing God who judges our deeds (2 Sm 2:3b) knowing what is best for
us. Click here

THE
PARADOX OF OUR LIFE AND MISSION
The
authentic Christian life is a counter culture to that of the
world. That is why it is so difficult for sinful humanity to live
out what is authe ntically the way of Christ. That is why we are
called on to put on the mind of Christ. The way of the world is a
wide road that leads to destruction, while the way of Christ is a
narrow path that leads to salvation.

Queen’s Cousin: There
Is No Such Thing As a ‘Right’ to Abortion
by
Hilary White, Rome Correspondent
ROME,
October 10, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – There
is no such thing as a “right” to abortion, Lord Nicholas Windsor has
said in this weekend’s Daily Telegraph. Lord Windsor, the youngest son
of the Duke of Kent and the first cousin once removed to Queen Elizabeth
II, is becoming noted not only as among the rare members of Britain’s
Royal Family to convert to Catholicism, but more recently for his
outspoken opposition to legalized abortion, which he compares with
eugenics. Click here

From
a Tragedy to a Blessing
A
big fire struck Brgy. West Navotas In Metro Manila last year.
A thousand families were left homeless, 16 of them were CFC-FFL
members. Initially, they were accommodated at evacuation centers but
eventually were made to go back to their fire ravaged area with only
tarpaulins and plywood over their heads.

The
choice before Israel was not whether to cross or not. The choice was
whether they would be faithful to God’s covenant or continue with
infidelities. And it was a very stark choice–between life and
prosperity or death and doom (Dt 30:15). It was a choice between
“the blessing and the curse” (Dt 30:19b).
The
journey of CFC-FFL is much like that of Israel. God raised it and
entered into covenant with the brethren. Like Israel, there were
infidelities including the veering away from God’s will and plan.

NEW YEAR MESSAGE
Resolve
to be Holy
Happy
new year to all!
Each new year is a crossroad. We decide to go God’s way or veer away
on our own way. We either move forward in our walk with God, or we
retrogress. We of course can stand still, neither moving forward nor
backward, but to do so would be akin to moving backward. God calls us
to holiness and discipleship, and we have our whole life for this, and
each new day should be a deliberate step forward. If not, then we have
that one day less in our lifetime by which to draw closer to God.
Being in the same place and not closer, then we have moved back.

CHRISTMAS MESSAGE
2011
The
Servant of the Lord
As we rejoice in the birth of Jesus, we are mindful of who he
is--Savior, Messiah and Lord. But we must be mindful as well of
his call to us as his disciples.
This year the Lord gave us our theme from the book of the prophet
Isaiah. “My God is now my strength!” (Is 49:5). The larger
context was Isaiah 49:1-7, comprising the second of four
“Servant of the Lord” oracles. The ultimate fulfillment of
these prophecies is Jesus.
Now we too are servants of the Lord. As such, we are to follow in
his footsteps, we are to continue his work of salvation, we are to
be like him in holiness, we are to follow him to the cross, we are
to rise again in glory. Thus we have looked at Isaiah 49:1-6 as
strikingly descriptive of our very own history and work in
CFC-FFL.

Perfectly Holy and Entirely Blameless
Paul
prays, “May the God of peace himself make you perfectly holy and may
you entirely, spirit, soul, and body, be preserved blameless for the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thes 5:23). To live pure is to be
untainted in everything that we are and do, in our whole being. As such,
to be holy is actually to strive for Christian perfection. As we grow in
perfection, we become the spotless bride ready to meet the Bridegroom.
Thus to be holy and pure prepares us for the ultimate coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ in glory. What helps us to live pure? Click

Congress - An Affirmation of God's Strength
After
the Almighty I AM Congress in
Toronto
last August 15, 201 0,
the BOC decided to move the 2011 YFL-SFL Congress to
Calgary
. This was a leap of faith. But it was a long jump of faith
for CFCFFL Calgary to accept the challenge of hosting
the 2011 Congress. When you consider that the singles &
youth from
Toronto
would travel some 3,434 kms and cross the two-hour time
zone, take
the one way 4-hour flight and spend some $650.00 (Php
30,000.00) for the airfare, this was relying in God's
strength. When you have only some 25 couples, 2 years of YFL
with 35 youth, no SFL, and limited resources, CFCFFL Calgary
was begging for God's strength. Click

CFC-FFL
Toronto in the National March for Life in Ottawa

An
estimated crowd of 15,500 from all walks of life, young and
old, gathered this year in Ottawa to demand government
protection to life, even asking Prime Minister Stephen
Harper to re-open debate on abortion when the new parliament
opens in June. Earlier, the Ottawa mayor signed a
document declaring May 12 as "Respect for Life
Day". Ottawa Archbishop Terrence Prendergast
reaffirmed his support for the annual march in the wake of
boycott of some bishop in the use of graphic images in the
march. CFC-FFL sent a much bigger delegation this year
with 3-bus load of members from Greater Toronto Area,
participated in by Servant General Frank Padilla, Nonong
Contreras, Canada Country Coordinator, and Deacon Val
Danukarjanto of the Epiphany of Our Lord Parish,
Scarborough. Click

COMMUNITY PRAYER 2012
Almighty
Father, you are the Author of Life. You have created us in your image
and likeness, and we belong to you. Help us to grow in holiness and
purity, as we continue to heed your voice and hold fast to you.
Jesus our Lord, you came so that we might have life, and have it more
abundantly. Grant us the grace to experience that abundant life that
is lived for you. Continue to show us the way of discipleship, walking
in your ways, trusting and rejoicing in you, and always ready to
embrace your cross.
Holy Spirit of God, you have brought us into community, so that we
might help renew the family and defend life, and bring the good news
of salvation in Jesus to many others. Send us forth in your power to
engage the enemy, keeping us always under the mantle of your divine
protection.
Triune God, we choose life. Help us to live life, to defend life, and
to promote life. Use us to build a civilization of love in the world
today, so that all may experience life as you intend.
Mama Mary, you brought Life into the world. We are your children. Pray
and intercede for us always, and keep us in your loving embrace.
May we all be found to be good and faithful servants, ready when our
Lord Jesus returns in glory. Amen.
